Catto Shaw Matching Grant 2025

On February 6th, 2025 Cultivating Place begins its 10th year of expanding & elevating the way we as a Garden culture think & talk about Gardening - by engaging, educating, encouraging & EMPOWERING Gardeners to grow our world better - environmentally, culturally, economically & spiritually - thru their human impulse to Garden.

In celebration of this decade of work, in January of 2025 the Catto-Shaw Foundation pledged $100,000 matching grant to the newly formed non-profit Cultivating Place Foundation in support of its growing work in all areas: radio program/podcast, in-person & virtual community events, & ongoing CP LIVE film series underway.

Since 2016, the Cultivating Place public radio program & podcast has been in the ears & hearts of 100s of 1000s of Gardeners & caring Cultivators-of-Place around the world; we've shown up & grown up in people's communities in-person & online for speaking events & gathering; we've grown your bookshelves & audiobook feeds with inspiration & encouragement.

With the help of a generous matching grant from the Catto-Shaw Foundation in 2024, we expanded our team & perspective with guest hosts Abra Lee & Ben Futa & undertook the ambitious live interview + documentary film project known as CP LIVE with EM EN filmography - learning from & with Gardeners around the country in order to elevate them as models to continue to grow our world & our understanding & actions as Gardeners.
