Cultivating Place AUGUST 2026 Book Club Communing: Sounds Wild & Broken
Cultivating Place's monthly gathering to engage, encourage, and empower us all to cultivate our places with care, which is Gardening with a Capital G, for all the reasons we do: beauty, food, utility, community, ecology, economy, spirit and sanity. Join us!
Join us for our monthly Communing, August 18, 2026
Led by Cultivating Place Host Jennifer Jewell, we will explore the many lessons and messages of this heartfelt and science-based book through the lens of Cultivating our Places with Care - which is BIG G Gardening. What are the sounds that are integral to the identity of our places and gardens, have they changed over our time in this place, are they in danger of being extinguished? How does our "soundscape" help us to see and hear our role as Gardeners more expansively?
Registration is free, but to facilitate discussion, seats are limited to 50. Upon registration, attendees will be sent a confirmation email with a Zoom link to join the circle. Reminders will go out a few days before and on the day of the event. The event will be recorded, and a link to the recording will be sent out after the event to all registrants.
Want to purchase the book to read in advance? Try POINT REYES BOOKS in Point Reyes Station, California, BRAIN LAIR BOOKS in South Bend, Indiana, or Avant-Garde Books in Atlanta, Georgia. Or, give your local independent bookstore or library a call (and some love) to check availability.
Looking forward to gathering together around how we listen, what we hear, and how that gardens us.
